The Horny Toad Celebrates 42 Years 

Few restaurants and saloons survive to experience more than four decades in business. However, The Horny Toad, one of the most famous restaurant names in Arizona, continues to thrive as it prepares to celebrate 42 years with “42 to You” on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The Horny Toad will feature 16-ounce glasses of Horny Toad Golden Ale for $3.42, margaritas for $4.20, house wine $3.42, Coor’s Light draft for $2.42 and Dos Equis Lager for $2.42. Singer Lauren Elizabeth will perform from 3:30-7:30 p.m.

Scottsdale Public Arts Adds Four New Pieces

Scottsdale Public Art announces the recent completion of four public artworks, including a custom terrazzo floor design in a new fire station in north Scottsdale and three temporary public artworks throughout south Scottsdale.

Scottsdale Public Art commissioned the work of artists Nancy McIntosh, Daniel Moore and Rossitza Todorova for the Scottsdale installations, which will remain on display through spring 2019 as part of IN FLUX Cycle 7.

IN FLUX provides opportunities for Arizona artists to create site-specific temporary public art installations in a wide variety of locations.









Vig Restaurants Begin 7th Year of “The Vig Gives” Program

This September, The Arizona Vig Restaurants including locations at the Vig Fillmore, The Vig Uptown, The Vig Arcadia, The Vig McDowell Mountain and the Vig McCormick Ranch will be supporting neighborhood elementary, middle and high schools through their annual “The Vig Gives” fundraising campaign.

From Sept. 1-30, when guests dine at their local Vig restaurant for brunch, lunch or dinner, the restaurant will donate a portion of its proceeds to the schools’ PTO/PTA within the surrounding area in addition to giving $500 in gift cards to one lucky school.



Arizona Restaurant Association’s Fall Arizona Restaurant Week 

Diners can once again enjoy the creative menus of some of the state’s most popular restaurants with the return of the Arizona Restaurant Association’s Fall Arizona Restaurant Week. From Sept. 21-30, participating restaurants offer dining specials that showcase their chefs’ culinary skills with items not always featured on their regular menus. These dishes are presented in three-course, prix-fixe menus for just $33 or $44 per person. This format gives food aficionados an opportunity to enjoy a wide range of the valley and state’s culinary chops at a fantastic price.

One of Arizona Restaurant Week’s goals is to position Arizona as one of the top culinary destinations in the nation by increasing awareness of the abundance of dining opportunities available as well as stimulate business and revenue for restaurants throughout the state.

Fountain Hills Theater Presents the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice Classic “Jesus Christ Superstar”

A musical phenomenon that has wowed audiences for more than 40 years, Jesus Christ Superstar is a timeless work set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally known series of events but seen, unusually, through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. See the spectacle for the first time or relive the glory of this rock classic. Featuring the hits “Hosanna,” “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” and “Superstar.”

Jesus Christ Superstar will play Aug. 31 through Sept. 16. Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Individual tickets are $30 for adults and $12 for youth 17 and under.
