On the Edge Gallery Offer Unique and Custom Pieces to Give Your Shelves New Life

Is your shelf space ready for its close-up? When it comes to your home, you want to maximize your shelf space with color, texture, creativity. You often seek one-of-a-kind pieces that will act as a conversation starter. Scottsdale has an eclectic array of local artists that showcase diverse mediums to bring your shelving space into focus.

On the Edge Gallery is an artist cooperative gallery nestled on Fifth Avenue in Old Town Scottsdale. What started in Fountain Hills has grown into two locations that thrive on the community interest they’ve generated for six years.

“We are a cooperative, so many artists are involved in the success of the gallery, as well as in every aspect of selling and displaying their own artwork,” artist and board member Margaret Sullivan says. “We make sure it is a noncompetitive environment, showcasing diverse content and coloration between artists. We train our artists so they can do everything from hanging and selling to cleaning the artwork.”

Artists at On the Edge Gallery move and change their pieces frequently. New artists are also brought in.

“The main reason to be in a gallery is to sell art, be with other artists and have a presence,” Margaret says. “At our gallery, you have the luxury of buying direct from the artist, so you can get background on the pieces.”

With people redirecting their home décor to reflect personality, warmth and their own interests, rather than gravitating toward mass-produced goods, these local artists offer custom looks with a tangible backstory.
