Spring Arizona Restaurant Week

The most edible time of the year, Arizona Restaurant Week (ARW) makes its return Friday, May 20 to Monday, May 29, sending diners on a ten-day tasting tour of the state. Participating restaurants are not only known for their exceptional cuisine, but also spare no expense in giving diners an extraordinary culinary experience. During Spring ARW, more than 100 participating restaurants will offer a three-course prix-fixe menu for just $33 or $44 per person, allowing food lovers to experience the height of culinary talent from chefs statewide. Northeast Valley Girl Scouts Honored with Gold Award

This year, the Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council is pleased to announce that seven Northeast Valley teens—Dorthea Boatwright, Brittanee Hustad, Rachel DeStigter, Ariana Schein, Reyna Gariepy, Tess Grossman and Ellie Fessler— have been honored with the highest award in Girl Scouting: The Gold Award. This year, the award is even more special, as the Girl Scouts are celebrating the milestone 100th Anniversary of the Gold Award. Earning the Gold Award is somewhat comparable to the Boy Scouts’ Eagle Scout. Chateau on Central Design Challenge Arizona Names

Conceived by North Scottsdale DC Ranch resident, Monica Monson, the Chateau on Central Design Challenge Arizona came to a festive end by naming Robert Burg, of Robert Burg Design, Top Designer for his French-inspired Chateau. Topgolf Opens Registration 
for Summer Academy

It might still be spring, but what are parents planning to do for their kids this summer? Topgolf, a premier golf entertainment complex, has opened registration for their Summer Academy at both of their Valley locations to help kids and teens 6 to 16 fall in love with golf. The Summer Academy only has 12 positions available for each age group per week, so space is limited. SARRC’s Swirl, Sip & Savor 
Vintner & Chef Dinner

The Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) recently hosted their Swirl, Sip & Savor event at the Sanctuary Resort, raising $280,000 for the Think Asperger’s program. Seven premier wineries from around Napa Valley provided a selection of wines for the tasting and dinner, including Amuse Bouche, August West Wine, Boyanci Wines, Darioush, Hanzell Vineyards, Kosta Browne Winery and O’Shaughnessy Estate Winery. Chefs from El Chorro, the Four Seasons, Phoenician and Sanctuary participated in the four-course dinner. The evening concluded with a stellar live auction featuring a one-of-a-kind 5L jeroboam of Amuse Bouche “Red Bird Blend,” hand-etched with Arizona Cardinals logo and signed by their top players. Chef Lenard Rubin 
Named Chef of the Year

Lenard Rubin, Executive Chef at The Country Club at DC Ranch, was recently named 2016 American Culinary Federation (ACF) Western Region Chef of the Year. He received the title following a competition at the ACF Western Regional Culinary Salon held at The Academy of Arts, Careers & Technology in Reno, Nevada. Rubin will now prepare to compete for the national title against his regional counterparts during the Cook. Craft. Create. Convention & Show here in Phoenix, July 15-19. Creamistry to Open 
at Scottsdale Quarter

Liquid nitrogen freezes milk crystals at -321 degrees Fahrenheit, creating the most indulgent and creamy ice cream possible. This scientific feat will happen daily at the Valley’s newest ice cream shop, Creamistry, set to open in Scottsdale Quarter at the end of May. Customers will be able to choose a size or specialty, select an ice cream base and one of nearly 40 flavors, then choose their toppings.
